Sometimes the best things are the simplest ones. When it comes to food trucks most of us are in. The Lansing area has some of the best food trucks around anywhere with some even getting national attention.

Whether it's barbeque, Mexican, pizza, sandwiches, or just burgers we have a great variety all over the place in Mid-Michigan, and residents love it.

What Could Be Coming To REO Town

Here is the scoop, local folks this summer are putting a plan together at a historic building in REO Town.  According to lansingcitypulse.com, there's is an old gas station on Washington Avenue that might turn into a full-service bar, then the plan is to put in a lineup of food trucks.

The Lansing City Council held a public hearing last week to review a request from REO Town Ventures LLC for an obsolete property rehabilitation exemption certificate at 1102 S. Washington Ave — a vacant service station across from Sleepwalker and Good Truckin’ Diner. It would freeze its property taxes for 12 years in exchange for developers pouring about $300,000 of their own cash into the project and turning the building into something useful.

This is such a cool idea, I love going to REO Town near the Grand River and walking around in the spring and summer. The area is cool and reminds me of my neighborhood in Chicago.

More Fun To The neighborhood

The food trucks would be a big welcome to the neighborhood and a great addition to all the great restaurants there, like The Rusty Mug Bar and Grill, Good Truckin' Diner, and  REO Town Pub.  Keep you posted on the progress.
