What’s The Perfect Doughnut and Coffee Combo at Strange Matter Coffee?
We've all got our favorites right?
Favorite restaurant, sandwich place, soup spot, dive bar...you catch my drift.
But of all your favorites, I'd be willing to bet good money that you having a go-to coffee joint.
Now I know a bunch of you are beholden to that national chain based out of Seattle that has a store on practically every corner. Some are literally feet or no more than a few blocks from one another.
Talk about oversaturation. Or are they just meeting the demand because we've all evolved into super java junkies?
Local coffee shops just "hit different".
Locals just do it better. Take that how you will. But I'd rather visit a local Lansing, Mid-Michigan-based coffee spot than a national chain any day.
This past weekend I made myself EXTREMELY HAPPY when I visited Strange Matter Coffee Company. It's been a minute since I've visited the new address.
I remember when these guys used to be at their old location. This corner.
Across the street and next to Asian Gourmet.
Now they are right across the street from their old digs.
Inside same great service and local flavor.
The coffee is of course still delicious.
And here is where I get to recommend two of the best treats I've tasted to ever come from Strange Matter Coffee Company and touch my lips.
Get this coffee and donut combo and I dare you to have a bad day afterward.
The coffee? Ask them to make you a cinnamon, honey latte. I added oat milk to mine. And your perfect donut pairing?
Say hello to this baby in the case.
Middle shelf and second row from the right. Behold the beauty and doughnut deliciousness of the "ginger peach".
That is peach frosting and candied, ginger garnish.
Get this donut with the cinnamon honey latte and it's over.
Trust me. My inner fat kid and foodie would never steer you wrong.
