Mid-Michigan Businesses That Closed in 2019
2019 was a crazy year to closed the decade and it brought a lot of changes to our area, such as the closing of several stores in the area. There were several stores and restaurants that closed in our area and I'll go over a few below.
This year was also the saga of Mr. Taco and them opening and closing their doors several times in 2019. They are open now but sometimes close so its better to check their Facebook to see when they are open. More on their saga here.
After 40+ years Finley's announced this summer of the closing of their Jackson restaurant (on 1602 W. Michigan Ave. in Blackman) on August 12th. They transferred some of the employees to other locations and their catering was still open. More about it here.
Sears Parent company announced closing of dozens of Sears and on Thursday 11/07/19, 96 Sears and Kmart stores were announced to close by February 2020, with the location at Lansing’s Frandor Mall on the list. More on it here. Another store at the mall that closed in 2019 was Houlihan's at the Lansing Mall, they were an anchor for the mall and closed their doors in 2019 too.
Finally, this is a sad one as after 13 years, THE ORIGINAL Klavon's Pizzeria & Pub (6010 Clinton Rd, Jackson, MI 49201) has closed its doors. There is still another Klavon's open in our area so at least you are able to check it out and get some pizza. You can see more about it here.
