Two Favorites Off Lake Lansing Road Closed, What Do You Want To See Replace Them?
Is the competition on (or off of) Lake Lansing Road that stiff?
You say goodbye, but who do we say hello to?
I'm gonna go ahead and put this out there.
I didn't know that Spartan HOF had gone out of business. I don't know how I missed it. But it's done. Finito. Closed for good.
It happened right before Christmas.
That was dated on December 22nd of last year.
Fast forward to February of this year. Same kind of sign, different date, another restaurant, and right down the road.
According to a friend of mine, American Bistro in the Eastwood Towne Center was indeed open this past weekend.
Sunday to be exact. They know because they were there. February 6th, 2022.
It's two days later and this is on the door.

Covid and the pandemic are playing havoc with our local eateries. Not even the big-name chains are safe. See Outback in Okemos.
We, at first, had only heard rumors of what was happening at the Okemos location of Outback Steakhouse, located at 4880 Marsh Rd.
One Facebook user in the group "Lansing Foodies" posted on January 21st saying they saw a "for sale" sign as well as a dumpster in the parking lot and asked when the location closed.
So what's next and what would you like to see off of Lake Lansing Road?
Have you been here yet?
A serious question while talking about what's already off of Lake Lansing Road. Did this new arrival speed up the demise of both American Bistro and Spartan HOF Cafe?
If you look at a map of the surrounding area, there are plenty of restaurant options on both sides of 127.
So while you're trying to decide what we want and need, please consider the competition. Will a local joint stand up to the competition here? And if so, what kind? If not local (and we know folks hate the big box chains) what established big name walks in to throw down the gauntlet?
Think about it and leave us a message via our free app or on our socials.
And before we leave, your vote for Waffle House is duly noted and counted. Twice.
I'm going to go ahead and beg for a Whataburger.
