How Did We Miss This? Another Lansing Restaurant Has Just Disappeared

Wait, when did this happen?

I mean now that I've actually paid attention to the writing on the wall, or lack thereof, I can totally see that the restaurant known as Punk Taco is NO MORE.

A quick trip to Old Town this weekend was a wake-up call.

Because at the address on Turner Street where this used to be...

Now there's this.

No signage. Nothing on the windows. Just...nothing.

For perspective, Punk Taco is (was) located right next door to The Creole.

That was then and this is what that spot looks like now.

Wait, weren't there TWO Punk Taco locations?

Why yes. There were two locations. The one that USED to be in Old Town and the other in East Lansing in a combo spot with The Cosmos.

As a matter of fact, that building used to look like this.

And now, we've got this.

So, what happened?

We can all assume another local restaurant has fallen on hard times because of the pandemic.

The collective that is The Creole, The Cosmos, Zoobie's Old Town Tavern (we think), and Punk Taco is commonly referred to as The Potent Potables Project.

However, there is no official word online from anyone about the fate of Punk Taco other than the fact that it just doesn't exist where it used to be.
