The outdoor festival at Ella Sharp Museum was postponed but has now been cancelled.

I was lucky to go to the event last year, sealing its place as a favorite event I wanted to make a summer tradition for me and my family.

Last year, craft beer and wine lovers took to Ella Sharp Museum and its surrounding space to sample things they haven't had before and check out some art while they are there!

I'm a big beer festival person to begin with so it is pretty disappointing to see it cancelled but this is kind of becoming "par for the course" as we move into Summer 2020.

According to MLive, the event was originally scheduled for June 13th, then was moved to August 8th, now it has cancelled for 2020 and will take place June 12th of 2021.

Being one of the 5,000 attendees at last summer(2019)'s event, I know how much this festival means to the people in Jackson and luckily, that same passion is reflected by those who put the whole thing on.

MLive, citing a news release, said that officials did work hard in an effort to make the festival happen for 2020, "“However, in light of the current situation we are facing, and with our commitment to provide a safe and fun experience for all guests, staff, sponsors, and volunteers, we can not (host) the 2020 festival.”

As COVID-19 continues to cause more re-schedulings, cancellations and other situations for many events this summer, keep in mind there are still creative ways to bring those activities home.

Try going to your local party store and picking up different beers or wines you have been wanting to try or even ones you never even heard of and host your own tasting at home!
