I am moving near the end of the month. I am so looking forward to it. Because I get to upgrade from the one bedroom, third floor, surrounded by college students joint I have been in for almost 3 years to a townhouse.

With plenty of room and a small ENCLOSED backyard.

More room, backyard...room for a fur baby.

So after I get all settled, I am going to get myself a buddy from the CAHS.

If you are in the mood to expand your family with a fur baby and you've been waiting for just the right moment to do so, this weekend just might be for you.

The Capital Area Humane Society along with the Bissell Pet Foundation are doing Empty The Shelters this weekend at over 160 organizations. Including CAHS.

That means adoptions at REDUCED FEES. But not for puppies and kittens.

After successfully finding forever homes for 6,231 pets amidst COVID-19, BISSELL Pet Foundation is once again aiming to Empty the Shelters by sponsoring reduced adoption fees across the country starting Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12.

You can adopt a pet from one of the 160+ participating organizations for $25 and BPF will sponsor the remainder of the adoption fee. Plus, for one week following this Empty the Shelters promotion, BPF will also cover the same cost for new foster families who fall in love and decide to adopt their pets. (Bissell Pet Foundation)
