Michigan Man Crashes Truck Into Gas Station, Hilarity Ensues

And he would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for...well a lot of things actually.

Meet 24-year-old William Edmonds of Ortonville. Thursday morning at about 2:30 AM he decided to burn some rubber and spin out doing some donuts in the parking lot of the local gas station/convenience store. After all, what else are you supposed to do when you get new tires for your truck? Only problem with that is he had just purchased some beer and the clerk behind the counter saw him pop the top on one. Oh and he's a regular so THEY KNEW WHO HE WAS. Did I mention the surveillance cameras and footage and photos? All of which you can see above. (If you haven't clicked on or watched the video, please do it now. Anyway, young William lost control of his truck in the middle of his vehicular acrobatics.

He hit the gas pump island and his truck careened into the convenience store. Surveillance video shows the truck plowing through the entry doors and stopping entirely inside the store. (WJRT)

No one was injured inside or outside the store. But video footage shows Mr. Edmonds take his paperwork from the truck and then proceed to rip his license plate from the truck bumper. We can only assume so he could throw the police off and they wouldn't find him. You wanna tell him about the VIN number or should...never mind.

They arrested him at his home on Friday, about 13 hours after the crash.

Edmonds admitted to drinking beer and spinning his tires near the gas pumps because it was easy with his new tires. He told the sheriff's office that he didn't mean to hit the building or injure anyone. And we're sure the judge will take that into consideration in between viewings of the video footage.

The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office charged Edmonds with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident. He was released on a $5,000 personal bond, ordered not to visit the BP station and submit drug and alcohol tests twice a week. (WJRT)
