Capital Area District Libraries (CADL) has announced a major renovation project for their main branch in downtown Lansing.

Some of the new renovations will be a new lobby and a more open floor plan. Along with that there will be a study room that will be up graded to make it more user friendly with more more tables, chairs, and USB Plugins. In addition, books will be on its own floor to make room for a second floor which will have more media items like DVDs, CDs, ect. There will also be quiet study spaces for students.

The renovation project will take a few months to complete so the library is closing on December 31, 2017 to begin the upgrades. The downtown branch is expected to reopen sometime in March of 2017. Construction is set to begin January 3.
