That was what I asked you on Wednesday since we are only a week out from Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Do You think that stores should be open on Thanksgiving or will you shop on Thanksgiving. Of course we know that Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping days of the year and sales have moved into Thanksgiving now, for some terrible reason. Also I asked you if you have ever worked on Thanksgiving before, and most of the people who have worked on the holiday don't really like the idea. But there were two callers who were alright with stores being open on Thanksgiving as long as it was later in the day.

But what do you think? Also just some stats about Black Friday shopping; the earliest known use of the term "Black Friday" was used in the early 1960s. But Black Friday didn't start creeping up on Thanksgiving until the late 2000s as it was common for retailers to open at 6:00 a.m. Not sure of the year but around 2005 many retailers opened earlier like 5:00 or 4:00. Then the bottom fell out in 2011, when several retailers (including Target, Kohl's, Macy's, and Best Buy,) opened at midnight for the first time. And for some reason it has gotten earlier and earlier every year even though sales have been down on Black Friday in the last couple of years.
