That was the Topic of the Day for you on Wednesday, since Santa is all over now. One of the many traditions that people do for Christmas is bring their kids to see and sit on Santa, tell them what they want for Christmas, and get a picture with them. But I'm wondering do you find it alright or is creepy and cruel to make you kids sit on his lap. Check out what some people had to say about it.

Here's one more caller who has another way to bring your kid to Santa

The tradition of meeting Santa started in 1890  in Brockton, MA by James Edgar, as he started doing in his department store. He played Santa a few years as did other employees through out the years after 1890. He thought it would be good to have Santa there as it helped to promote the store's image by distributing small gifts to children, and to provide a seasonal experience to children by listening to their wish list while having them sit on his knee. Having a Santa set up to take pictures with children is a ritual that dates back at least to 1918. Also some parts of Europe and the UK are starting to scale back on kids sitting on Santa's lap. More about the Santa tradition here.
