Recall Alert! Did You Buy Your Christmas Tree at Home Depot?
We know it's the middle of the summer and the last thing you're probably thinking about is Christmas or Christmas trees.
Wait, there are those Christmas in July sales. But we're not talking about that right now.
Even though, you might have got a great deal on this Christmas tree last year at this time at Home Depot.
From our friends at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission:
Willis Electric has issued a recall on the Home Accents Holiday artificial Christmas trees.
It was sold exclusively at Home Depot from June 2019 through December 2019 between $80 to $360.
The problem isn't with the tree itself. Rather, the foot pedal controller to turn the lights on and off.

The sold about 99,000 units of this thing and another 5,000 in Canada.

Consumers should immediately stop using the foot-pedal controller, dispose of it and contact Willis Electric for free replacement foot pedal controller.
The firm has received 509 reports of incidents of overheating involving the foot-pedal controller, including one report of a burn.
Now if you think you have one of these trees, you can check the model number and SKU number on the product label on the Christmas tree cord.
