It's that time of the year again, time to make sure you dog's rabies vaccine and license is up to date.

The licensing event will be held at the Ingham County Fairgrounds in Mason from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free rabies vaccines will be provided and owners are able to purchase a license on location.
The fairgrounds are located at 700 E Ash Street, Mason.
For residents in Ingham County, if your dog is spayed or neutered, licensing is $15 for one-year or $35 for a three-year license. If your dog is not sterilized, a one-year license is $45 or $125 for a three-year license.
Those interested in attending the licensing event will enter the fair grounds off of Kipp Road and exit on Ash Street. Upon arrival, you will be required to wear a face mask and answer a series of COVID-19 screening questions.
Michigan has required dog licensing and proof of a rabies vaccination since 1919. The state also requires that your dog remain on a leash while in a public setting. According to FOX 47 and the Ingham County Animal Control, it is a misdemeanor offense if you live in Ingham County if your dog is found without a collar on.
A dog license could be the difference between your lost dog being lost permanently or reunited with their owners.
