
ALERT: FBI Issues A New Scam Warning to Michigan Residents
Scams are on the rise here in the state of Michigan, as well as across the country. Today alone, I received an invoice, requesting money to keep a service I had previously paid for running, which is leading me to believe my information had been leaked. The email was a bogus email and did not actually come from the company.

There are many things you should always watch out for when it comes to scams. Things like legitimate phone numbers, emails, as well as links in texts, emails and other messages. An incomplete email, one that links to a fake site, an unrecognized phone number, or even email are all signs of a bogus message reaching you.

Just recently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation issued a warning to all iPhone as well as Android users, to not reply to any messages that state that they are a United States official. They are confirming they are not reaching out to any residents at this time.

The FBI is also warning of malicious actors using AI generation to send text and voice messages for campaigns for U.S. officials. These voices sound genuine and almost real, which is cause for concern. They will ask you to login to certain sites to gather information.
The FBI recommends to never responding to anyone you do not know, and delete them immediately. You should also report any of the messages you get directly to the Internet Crime Complaint Center, to help investigators keep track of these new and evolving scams.
