There actually may be a great excuse waiting for you, and you're just not aware of it right now. There is a massive recall on cucumbers happening right now in Michigan, over the possibility of salmonella contamination, after at least two dozen have been reported sick in multiple states.
Warning: Cucumber Recall Currently Happening in Michigan
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), just released a warning on whole cucumbers that were grown by Bedner Growers. The cucumbers were then delivered by Fresh Start Produce INC.
Recalled: Major Igloo Recall Happening in Michigan
The cucumbers were sent to not just grocery stores, but as well as restaurants and wholesalers between the dates of April 29th and May 14th, 2025. This is a multi-state salmonella outbreak at this time, with many in at least as 15 states being sick at the current time.
There aren't confirmed cases yet here in Michigan, however, there are concerns that the cucumbers may have been distributed here in the state of Michigan, and could cause potential issues to your health.
What Is Salmonella?
Salmonella is a dangerous bacteria that can cause issues such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever, nausea and vomiting. In most cases, many people can recover without needing any medical treatment at all, however, for those who are young, sick or the elderly, it could prove less forgiving.
The FDA is asking anyone who may have purchased any cucumbers during this time to discard of the cucumbers immediately.
