It seems that scams to be on the rise here, and they are getting more and more sophisticated. I don't even trust something that even appears legitimate anymore. Just recently, a new scam was trending about missing a jury summons here in the state of Michigan. That scam demanded you pay, or face losing your job to even being thrown in prison.

This new scam coming around may make you stop and wonder how people are falling for them. But with AI available at many peoples finger tips, things become more and more easier to fall for things.

The latest scam sweeping through Michigan, was sent out by the Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, who said that the next big scam sweeping through the state are celebrity impersonation scams.

It seems weird, however, it is happening. People impersonating celebrities will create fake scenarios with their victims. Playing on romance, and making people believe that they are in a relationship with a celebrity. Things like fake endorsement opportunities, and buying fake merchandise are also other ways people are getting conned.

You can avoid some simple things that may make you become the next victim of this scam. Firstly, don't believe everything you see online. While it's not impossible for you to make friends with a celebrity, chances are slim.

But, that's not to say scammers won't make you fall for them as a generic person, catfishing essentially.

You should always avoid opening any bank accounts, or shipping goods to someone that you have met online. Also, never send money to someone that you have only met online, even if it's just Gift Cards. Anyone who may rush relationships or friendships online, may be trying to take your personal information.
