Don't know if you're aware or not but that is "not" the official motto of the United States Post Office.
While the Postal Service has no official motto, the popular belief that it does is a tribute to America's postal workers. The words above, thought to be the motto, are chiseled in gray granite over the entrance to the New York City Post Office on 8th Avenue and come from Book 8, Paragraph 98, of The Persian Wars by Herodotus. While we're learning what isn't the official motto for the USPS, what we do know is they are hiring.

As a matter of fact, the Lansing Main Post Office (on Collins Road) is holding a drive-thru job fair on Wednesday, July 28th, from 10 am to 2 pm.
USPS has openings for City Carrier Assistants, Rural Carrier Assistants, Clerks and Mail handlers that officials say they are looking to fill immediately. Starting wages are between $16.87 and $19.06 per hour.
Applicants must be either 18 years of age or a high school graduate, must be a US Citizen or have permanent resident alien status, and must pass a background check, drug test and pre-employment medical assessment. They must also reside within daily commuting distance of the position. (WILX)
