The Evolution Of Drive-In Movie Theaters

Drive-in movie theaters were a popular fixture back in the 1940's through the 60's. A decrease in viewership and actual drive-in's actually occurred during the 70's through the '90s, and as of today, you won't find a ton of drive-ins left.

During the '70's, home television really had an imporvement, which lead to the decline. Let's not forget about the pollution issues that had occured during this time period, which lead to a lessening usage of cars.

Drive-In's Back On The Rise

As of late, we've seen an uprise back into this era of technology. What was once retro isn't so retro anymore. These type of trends make there ways back constantly, from records, to CD's and a lot of different forms of technology.

A vintage drive-in with double features, as well as great consession.

US 23 Drive In Theatre, Flint, MI

Double features, popcorn, and tons of classic snacks. Plus, this theatre has been serving the area for nearly 60 years.
