You may have voted for Michigan's primary already through absentee vote, and now your candidate is out of the race, well you can change your vote. The Democratic Primary is down to three with Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders, and if the person you voted for on your absentee ballot isn't one of those three, there are a few things you can do to make sure your voice is still heard.

First off you can change your vote and ballot by simply spoiling your ballot by submitting a written request to the city or township clerk. If interested in this you must do this by 2pm on Saturday. In the request you will state whether you will like another absentee ballot mailed to you or if you will just go to the polls and vote in person. Most people do pick getting a new ballot but if you are doing this on Friday you might want to go to the polls on Tuesday or take the next option.

The second option is spoiling your vote in person at the county clerk's office. You have until Monday at 4pm to do this and you will be able to obtain another ballot and can vote while you are at the clerk's office and submit your ballot there. Some people did this yesterday in Minnesota since a few candidates dropped out of the race this weekend after some already sent in their ballot.

Finally here's something to know, there is no option on Election Day to spoil an absentee ballot that has been received by the clerk.

If you are interested in getting an absentee ballot you still can request one at your clerk's office by showing up, calling, or mailing away for one. You don't need a reason to request a ballot so even more of a reason to vote. Details and phone numbers to call to get an absentee ballot are here.
