YMCA Will Help Provide Emergency Food Service
When you put it all together, I can see why great organizations step up and focus on something good during this difficult time.
According to WILX, when schools close, children lose two meals daily. For low income families, these may be the only complete meals some children receive in a given day.
The YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing are stepping up and committing themselves to make sure that children and adults have access to food without any barriers during this trying time.
The YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing Healthy Living Mobile Kitchen Bus distributes meals to 7 sites Monday through Friday in the Greater Lansing area.
The Mobile Kitchen is at each site for 20 minutes providing free healthy meals to kids and adults in need.
That's why I've always been a member of the YMCA because simply put, they're a great organization who knows how to provide essential help to those in need.
The YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing have served a total of 25,757 meals to community members.
The Healthy Living Mobile Kitchen will continue to provide free meals to our community until schools reopen. If you would like to help out or volunteer, please click on the WILX link.
