Michigan aka "Gator Country."

Whaaat?!

For some reason, there has been a lot of gators popping up in Michigan as of late, and Tuesday morning was no different. The Livingston County Sherrif's Office found the alligator roaming the streets of Oceola Twp. around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday. The call came in after a woman driving saw the gator cross in front of her car.

Luckily, deputies found him safely near a pine tree. He is currently with the Livingston County Animal Shelter waiting to see if his owner claims him, assuming he has one. The Sherrif's office posted a picture of the little guy on Facebook and I have to admit he's adorable!

If no one claims the gator by Thursday, 8/1, he will be transferred to an alligator sanctuary in Athens, MI.

This is the fourth alligator in less than 2 months to make the news in Michigan. Last week, a man shot and killed a gator that attacked him in Tuscola County. In June, a small one was found in someone's backyard in Jackson County. Also in June, a pet gator escaped its home in Lansing and was unfortunately struck by a car.
