There were not one but two reports of tornados in the Mid-Michigan area Thursday night. The tornadoes were reported mostly in Shiawassee county and moved quickly through the area. These storms were like most of the thunderstorms and high wind gusts that moved through the Lansing-Area Thursday night. Some wind gusts came in between 40-60 mph, with Fowlerville having winds reported at 60 mph and Jackson reporting 45 mph, according to MLive.  There was also a tornado watch for our area because of the two reports below.

The first reported tornado happened at 7:04 p.m., as according to the National Weather Service there was a large and extremely dangerous tornado located over Lennon, or near Durand, moving northeast at 60 mph.

Next there was another tornado reported at 7:30 p.m. by the NWS and MLive. The tornado developed in Shiawassee between Corunna and Bancroft, then moved northeast through Vernon. Thankfully there weren't any serious injuries reported but according to the Shiawassee Sheriff’s Office there was at least 100 properties that were leveled in the village of Vernon after after the violent tornado came through.
