If you drive through Lansing or live in Lansing know of these road closures starting today and lasting quite long. First, One lane of South Capitol Avenue between West Lenawee and West Kalamazoo will be closed. The closure is due to Lansing BWL doing some water main work there, and sidewalks will be closed on the north side of West Lenawee St. Another note about this is that this work zone will expand to close South Capitol Ave this July. More here.

Next, starting Monday, Lansing will shut down part of Miller Road, from Ceder to Penn Ave, for sewer and road repairs. There are detours posted but you are urged to take another route as this road work is going to be going on until late August. More here.

Finally, there are some changes to parking in East Lansing. East Lansing will be starting a pilot program in some neighbors around East Lansing to limit on street parking in areas where roads are too narrow for two way driving. The first phase will eliminate on-street parking on seven streets while the second will restrict portions of the Bailey Neighborhood. It won't be happening all over the East Lansing yet, as this pilot program will go on for a year before the city council will evaluates and may or may not expand it to other neighborhoods. You can see more on it here, including a map of the area or no parking.
