Represent You & Michigan In The New Ridley Scott Movie
Ok so first, some backstory.
Back in 2010, Director Kevin Macdonald & Ridley Scott started gathering material for this groundbreaking movie they made called "Life In A Day".
Life in a Day is a crowdsourceddrama/documentary film comprising an arranged series of video clips selected from 80,000 clips submitted to the YouTube video sharing website, the clips showing respective occurrences from around the world on a single day, 24 July 2010.
The film is 94 minutes 53 seconds long and includes scenes selected from 4,500 hours of footage in 80,000 submissions from 192 nations. (Wikipedia)
And you can watch it for free in it's entirety below.
Now, Kevin and Sir Ridley are back at it again. They are making a sequel so to speak. And going about it the same way.
All you have to do is get ready to film yourself for a day and submit your footage.
It's your chance to put yourself and Mid-Michigan on the map and at Sundance.
For the follow-up to Life in a Day, they’re asking people all over the planet to film a part of their life on July 25th. A team of 30 reviewers, three editors and Macdonald will go through the footage and assemble a feature-length documentary. Life in a Day 2020 will premiere at Sundance and on YouTube next year. How do you do it? Simple really.
Film your day on July 25 and submit your footage at lifeinaday.youtube for a chance to be part of the final film.
I'm just wondering why July 25th is significant? Do they know something we don't?
Either way, get your cameras ready.
And do some homework and watch the first one. Good luck.
