Post Malone and Mac Miller Were Going to Make an Album Together
It's been a whole year since the hip-hop world lost talented spitta Mac Miller. In the full calendar since his death, only a handful of posthumous pieces of music from the rapper have been released. According to Post Malone, he and the late rhymer discussed working on a full-length joint album before Mac died.
Post Malone revealed the news during an interview with Beats 1's Zane Lowe published on Friday (Sept. 6). Among going in-depth about his new Hollywood's Bleeding album, Posty opened up about his relationship with Mac.
"Mac was the first one that tweeted me. It's so weird because I listened to him since the beginning," Malone said of he and Mac's first interaction, around the 28:30 mark. "I was like, 'Yeah, awesome. This guy's cool as shit.' Then to be able to meet him and become friends with him was just like, 'I look up to you, and now we're sitting here playing beer pong.'"
Posty said they later got in talks of putting out the joint LP but Mac's death happened before any real progress was made.
"We were going to make an album," Post confirmed. "We were sitting there playing beer pong and we were like, 'Let's make a fucking album.' Then we were coming up with names and then it's so weird too. Because it was like a day, two days after he died. We were at an Airbnb in L.A. and all of a sudden the TV turns on, and on the TV and it wouldn't stop. We tried disconnecting it and all this. Then we turned it off and then it came back on and I was just like, 'This is weird. It gives me chills.' I don't know. What an incredible, honestly, what a genuine human being."
During the lengthy interview, Post, who is going on tour later this month, also discussed a possible upcoming collab with Eminem, his recent investments, mental health and more.
