There is a recall facing a brand of soda, as well as lemonade, that is sold here in the state of Michigan.

The Charles Boggini Company, is the latest company that had to initiate a recall alert regarding their products.

The following products have been affected:

  • 28 gallons of Pink Lemonade
  • 2,723 gallons of the Cola Flavoring Base
  • 112 gallons of Yellow Lemonade & Yellow Lemonade X

What Caused The Recall?

The recall started during March of 2024, but got elevated to a higher class of health hazard level in June. 

The following warning was announced about the soda brand in Michigan:

"use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."

The recall, which commenced in March 2024, was escalated to a higher class of health hazard level in June. Michigan residents were warned about potential health risks associated with consuming these products.

So, what caused the recall? Each of the recalled brands had its own issues. The Pink Lemonade contained undeclared FD&C Red No. 40, while the Cola Flavoring Base had undeclared sulfites. Similarly, the Yellow Lemonades also contained undisclosed substances.

Consumers are strongly advised to either return the product to the point of purchase or dispose of it safely.
