Northwest Community Schools In Jackson Closed Today

Northwest Community Schools in Jackson will be closed today—Thursday, September 19th—as officials with the school district continue to investigate social media threats. Officials with the school district made the announcement Wednesday night on their Facebook page.

The Superintendent also posted the following message:

Due to the late hour and the ongoing investigation into the threatening social media posts that appeared Wednesday night, an update will be provided to the Northwest community Thursday morning as soon as there is more information to share. At that point, we will provide more information on the investigation as well as the status of extracurricular activities scheduled for Thursday afternoon and evening. Thank you for your patience in this matter. As always, the safety of our students is our No. 1 priority. Thank you and good night.
