Michigan State Dominates Oregon to Complete Pacific Northwest Sweep
No. 10 Michigan State went into Eugene and handled business.
Second Half Turnaround and Defensive Strength
It was tight early. The Spartans were up just two at halftime, then came out of the locker room and turned the game into a grind for Oregon. By the time the final horn sounded, MSU had pulled away for a 62-52 win—a clean 2-0 sweep of the Pacific Northwest swing and a nice little correction from last season’s West Coast mess (with losses to USC and UCLA). This trip looked nothing like that.

The best part was the composure: no hero ball, just defense and steady offense until Oregon cracked.
Balanced Scoring and Key Contributors
Three Spartans hit double figures, and the production came from a few different spots, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to win on the road in January. Carson Cooper was the headliner with 19 points. Coen Carr dropped 15, knocked down a pair of threes, and led the team on the glass with eight rebounds. Jeremy Fears Jr. added 14 points and ran the show with five assists. Trey Fort also chipped in nine on an efficient 4-of-5 night.
Road Trip Impact and Momentum
Zooming out, this wasn’t just one road win—it wrapped up a really solid trip. Michigan State beat Washington by 17 and Oregon by 16, then flew back to East Lansing sitting at 17-2 overall and 7-1 in Big Ten play.
The Spartans will be back at home hosting Maryland on Saturday at noon, and if they keep defending like this and sharing the scoring load, that’s going to be a tough ticket for everyone. Plus, it’s always nice when you can point to a trip like this and know it’s growth for the team.
