Certainly, you may not all agree, but I'm here to say that this Thanksgiving side is one I look forward to most every year.

I've said it before and I will say it again, Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday.

I am not entirely sure why but I do know I get a feeling on Thanksgiving every year that I really don't get on other holidays.

My family and I wake up and only have coffee for breakfast (gotta keep that stomach ready). Then, we watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Once the dog show starts, we leave it on in the background while we get ready for a day full of food, family and fun.

Usually, I go with my cutest sweater and some stretchy jeans and we head to my mom's side of the family to eat and catch the Lions game. Then, we make our way to my dad's side for a second round of food and my Grandpa Mossolle's homemade pumpkin pie.

However, one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving starts even before all of that, my mom making her green bean casserole! I love the smell, I love making it and I especially love stealing the French fried onions.

Now, looks like I am not alone in loving a good, Thanksgiving green bean casserole because according to a survey done by Zippia, that is Michigan's favorite Thanksgiving side!

If you hate Michigan's favorite dish, though, don't worry...Mashed potatoes still reign supreme as the most states have them as their favorite.

In fact, Zippia says 47 states enjoy all the various carbs we devour on Thanksgiving while those pretentious people in Maine say their favorite part is the side salad!

All in all, no matter what your favorite Thanksgiving dish is, even if you love them all so much you can't decide, we can all agree that few things beat getting together with friends and family to stuff your face!
