"I didn't sign up for this!"

I am sure is what a lot of teachers were saying heading in to this messed up situation.

Some teachers just opted out of the season. Some retired. Some don't see what the big deal is, just go do their jobs and what they are told.

Either way, Michigan teachers, paraprofessionals and staff are about to get 500 bucks in hazard pay. Those who worked during the pandemic should get their checks by this time next month. I have 2 sisters that teach that I worry about being exposed to the crud. The things the teachers have had to deal with this year is mind boggling. Learn how to do class virtually. Coming up with lesson plans for live kids and virtual kids. All the technology that they have never really had to embrace in years past, has been thrust upon them like a single guy at a club.

And if you haven't noticed with all the nice things people have to say on social media, the teachers have had to deal with some pretty more cranky than normal parents this year. They deserve a hell of a lot more than 500 bucks but this is a good start.
