Michigan State University Staff Receiving $1,500 in Bonuses
Great news for staff members who are currently employed at Michigan State University, you're getting a raise, so to speak.
How does $1,500 in bonuses sound? What a nice perk for staff members at MSU.
My wife told me about this yesterday and was very shocked and excited because she works for Michigan State. In fact, she's been working at MSU for approximately 30 years.
I've been working here for 30 years and all I received was a bag of popcorn and the broadcasting studio was decorated with balloons and confetti.
Let's break this down for all MSU employees. According to the Lansing State Journal:
The bonuses are the latest olive branch MSU has extended to staff in recent months. Last month, the university announced 2% raises for all non-union faculty and academic staff hired on or before June 30, effective Jan. 1. MSU is also extending winter break, which is scheduled to start Dec. 20, by three days, and establishing a caregiver program with more information to come in the following weeks.
When I talked to my wife about this, she told me that all staff members received a letter from president Samuel Stanley.
I read the letter and sure enough it was legit. MSU staff and faculty will receive $1,500 in bonuses due to a year of challenges.
The Lansing State Journal also adds:
"We've experienced unprecedented Challenges, "Stanley wrote. "But working together, we have served our students and communities here and around the world, advancing knowledge and transforming lives with true Spartans Will.
