Two Jackson Nonprofits Team Up For “Arts And Cars Collide” Event
If you like cars or you like arts and crafts, maybe you like both or want a fun, family day out, The Jackson Makerspace and Hot Rod Elves bring you an outdoor event with something for everyone.
Arts and Cars Collide
The event pairs an arts and crafts show with a car show and Board of Directors Secretary for Jackson Makerspace, Becky Deadman says it is to get the word out about both organizations and gain new members.
"We currently have 30 craft and product vendor spots filled and one food vendor," Deadman says. "As far as the cars go, it is open to anyone who wants to show off their ride. Cars, trucks, bikes, dune buggies, if it has wheels it is welcome."
About The Organizations
According to Deadman, the Jackson Makerspace is located at 730 Tomlinson in Jackson where it is open to the public, though there is a membership fee but with that comes access to the building and tools all day, every day. Deadman says it is open for creating anything people can think of.
"We have electronics, metal shop, wood shop,, arts and crafts, quilting and so much more," she says.
According to the Jackson Makerspace website, there are also various classes available.
As far as what made the Jackson Makerspace team up with Hot Rod Elves, Deadman says "Our new president is a part of the Hot Rod Elves and thought it would be a great way to bring more people to the event."
Thus, this fun collaboration was born!
