A movie made in Michigan by former Flint resident Alex Grossman is showing in select theatres and is also available to stream.

The film titled 'That's Funny' made its red carpet debut last night, Thursday, December 7th, 2023, at the FIM Capitol Theatre in downtown Flint, but has been available to stream since November 2023.

Alex Grossman a former University of Michigan graduate, wrote, directed, and starred in the movie. According to IMDB, in 2017 Grossman was the most awarded comedy director at the Cannes Film Festival for a series of short films he directed for Alliance Francaise.

Fast forward to 2023, the talented Flint native continues to thrive and you can see his talents for yourself in 'That's Funny'. Michigan residents will recognize scenes filmed in Boyne City, Flint, Charlevoix, and Hartwood Pines.

The premise of the film according to Rotten Tomatoes is as follows,

On the verge of a mid-life crisis, a former stand-up comedian believes an appearance on a popular late-night show will save his career, but ends up learning that the journey is more rewarding than the destination.

Rotten Tomatoes gave 'That's Funny' a fresh score of  97%.
