It's a pretty cool moment when someone from your alma mater accomplishes something extraordinary, and for Kalamazoo College, that's been happening for a while. Esteemed alumni have gone on to become some of the best known actors and actresses in the industry, and brought home numerous awards.

But most recently, K-College alum Steve Yeun, picked up another trophy for his cabinet, and this one's pretty meaty.

This past week, Yeun received a massive award for his performance in the short series "Beef," which also starred Ali Wong. The show has received several accolades as it rolled through the awards circuits, and has now landed both Yeun and Wong a Sag Award.

Yeun brought home the award for "Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series." He was up against Matt Bomer for "Fellow Travelers," Jon Hamm for "Fargo," David Oyelowo for "Lawman: Bass Reeves" and Tony Shaloub for "Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie."

During his acceptance speech, Yeun thanked his family, his wife, and reminisced about when he first got his SAG-AFTRA card.

"I was reminded outside about the first job that I had that got me my SAG card, and it was being in a vat of fake caramel, wriggling around in a Speedo for a Milky Way Commercial... And honestly, I felt just as hyped to get that card then, as I am to received this here, now."

Steven Yeun Graduates from K-College and Pursues his Dream

Yeun, who shot to fame as "Glenn" on the popular TV show "The Walking Dead," graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2005 and immediately started acting.

His first gigs were as a voice actor in the Crysis video game series. From there, he was making small appearances in films and televisions shows, that included The Big Bang Theory, and Law & Order: L.A.

Yeun continued to have sporadic, but steady work, through 2010, when he finally landed his breakout role as Glenn Rhee in "The Walking Dead." From there, it's been steady, good work for him in Hollywood, including several starring roles as a voice actor and appearances in major movies like Jordan Peele's "Nope."

This is now his third SAG Award, after bringing home two, again, for his role in the film "Minari."
