Crews are working to replace an overpass that has been missing for about nine months on I-96.

It was damaged beyond repair last September, when a machinery delivery truck crashed into it.

Engineers say they will be filling the open space with "800-thousand pounds of concrete and steel."

Officials from MDOT say they expect for the bridge to be complete and open to traffic by Labor Day.

The project is expected to cost around $1.6M

MDOT says it will seek reimbursement from the company that owns the truck that took it down. (WILX)
