The Grand Rapids Griffins are celebrating their 25th anniversary season, featuring a number of giveaways and the return of many popular season-long promotions.

On Friday, November 26, it's the return of the popular "Teddy Bear/Mitten Toss". This is the 21st year the hockey club has been doing the feel-good promotion.

2013 Teddy Bear Toss

During the Teddy Bear/Mitten toss, fans are encouraged to bring a new, store-tagged teddy bear and stuffed animals to throw onto the ice after the Griffins score their first goal. The bears are collected for Billy Bear Hug Foundation, giving comfort to children with critical illnesses in West Michigan.

2015 Teddy Bear Toss

The Teddy Bear Toss is one of the most heartwarming holiday traditions in minor league hockey. When the home team scores its first goal of the game, thousands of plush toys are hurled from the stands and collected for charities.

2017 Teddy Bear Toss

The November 26th game begins at 7:00 pm as the Griffins host The Chicago Wolves. The game will also feature $2 beers and $2 hotdogs. There will be an open skate after the game.

2018 Teddy Bear Toss

This is a popular event. Tickets can be purchased here.

Last year, the event was modified. Instead of tossing plush toys on the ice, fans tossed the stuffed animals from their vehicle within a designated donation drive-thru area near the entrance to the West Rink of Griff’s IceHouse.
