The Detroit Red Wings Hire Former Player Nicklas Lidström
The Detroit Red Wings Vice President and General Manager, Steve Yzerman, announced on Tuesday that Nicklas Lidström, a former player with the Detroit Red Wings, would take over as vice president of hockey operations for the team.

Lidström, who is 51, is one of the most decorated players in the national hockey league. Lidström also currently holds the Detroit Red Wings individual record for the most points in a season.
Lidström served twenty years in the national hockey league.
With taking this new position, Lidström also joins four other teammates who also work for the Detroit area team, such as Jim Fischer, Niklas Kronwall, Mark Howe and Dan Cleary.
