Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

Over the weekend, I had the chance to spend some quality time with one of my favorite shows Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. And as I sat and watched, I started to think about and rack up the places that I have eaten that Guy Fieri has visited. When I was in Alaska, there were 4 (and all in Fairbanks - Pagoda, Big Daddy's, The Cookie Jar, and Silver Gulch).

After I moved back to Michigan, I ended up right in the middle of a big Triple D hub as well. If you don't know, now you know. And if you haven't visited or eaten at any of these places, here are the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Lansing locations.

Zaytoon
There are 2 locations in Mid-Michigan (Lansing and Holt). They specialize in Mediterranean food (the chicken shawarma is bomb).

Meat Southern B.B.Q. and Carnivore Cuisine
Some of the best BBQ in town (well, Old Town). Might I suggest (among other things) the Pork Belly Reuben, and the wings, and...well you gotta try it all.

East Side Fish Fry & Grill
Henry and his crew are THE BEST. Fish of every kind and even the exotic (gator & frog legs). Fried or grilled.

Capital City BBQ
Right in the middle of the Capital City. And where else can you get delicious BBQ, pho, & a bahn mi sandwich?!? This "hole in the wall, cell phone bbq" joint.

The Cosmos Old Town (East Lansing too)
Sam and the crew over at the Potent Potables Project have a collection of Lansing favorites (The Creole, Punk Taco, Zoobies). But The Cosmos and their AMAZING PIZZA were featured on Triple D. They have 2 locations now (one in Old Town and one in E. Lansing).

The Purple Carrot Truck
Lansing's first Farm to Table Food Truck. And if Guy is making noise about them, you need to check it out. You won’t be able to visit the truck until the summer, but you can check out their restaurant year round, Red Haven Farm to Table, in Okemos, Michigan. (The Purple Carrot Truck)
