Those who are currently trying out the dating scene here in the state of Michigan may want to exercise caution going forward. The Michigan State Police, are now warning of an alarming new dating scam that is hitting the state.

Dating safety is very important, and should always be taken into consideration when meeting strangers over the internet. There have been issues in the past with online dating apps here in the state of Michigan.

Back in 2019, Kevin Bacon, was brutally murdered after going to meet with a man that he had met on Grindr, an online dating app for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Warning: Dating App Scam On The Rise in Michigan

Those crimes haven't seemed to stop, in fact, just recently, a Warren man was beaten and robbed at gunpoint after going to meet someone that he believed to be a real person.

The man in question went to meet who he believed to be a woman around 2 a.m., to which he was ambushed by two armed men, who not only assaulted him, but had also stole his belongings.

The men in question who had assaulted the man quickly fled the scene, only to be found camped out in a house not too far in a nearby residence. There were three men and one woman involved.

This is a scary reminder, that you should always proceed with caution on dating apps you are on. You should be careful before divulging on any personal information as well as locations.
