Someone started to take down the Christmas decorations a little early this year.

According to the Lansing State Journal, someone drove into one of the ornaments in the roundabout in Downtown Lansing. The Lansing Police report that the crash happened sometime between 12 am and 6 am the morning of Sunday, December 30th. Sgt. Todd Johnson said the roads were icy at that time, so that may have helped in the crash.

Police are still working to find the person who caused this damage. At this time, they're treating it as a hit and run. The east facing ornament was cracked in half in the crash, causing one of the halves to fly to the edge of the roundabout island.

If you have any information on who may have caused the damage, you can call Detective Sgt. Chris Baldwin at (517) 483-6846.
