Michigan State Basketball Announces Rare Gonzaga Doubleheader

Michigan State basketball fans will get a double dose of the Spartans when both the men's and women's teams head west to face Gonzaga later this year.

The two schools will meet in a doubleheader on Saturday, December 19, as part of the Acrisure Series at Acrisure Arena in California's Coachella Valley.

Tipoff times and television information have not yet been announced.

This will not be Michigan State's first trip to the event. The Spartan men played Arizona at Acrisure Arena in November 2024, falling 74-68. The women also competed there during the 2024-25 season, picking up wins over California and Vanderbilt.

The Spartans Have Played at Acrisure Arena Before

Men's basketball coach Tom Izzo said the previous trip provided a great environment and that the chance to face Gonzaga made the matchup an easy addition to the schedule.

The game will also bring together Izzo and longtime Gonzaga coach Mark Few, who have developed a strong friendship over the years. Izzo said that Michigan State's large alumni presence in Southern California should also help create plenty of support inside the arena.

Women's basketball coach Robyn Fralick said her program is excited to return to the Palm Springs area and give its players and fans another chance to experience the venue.

The Acrisure Series has become one of the bigger holiday showcases in college basketball, bringing several nationally recognized programs to the Coachella Valley each year.

Tickets for the December 19 doubleheader go on sale Wednesday, July 15, at 1 p.m. Eastern through Ticketmaster and the Acrisure Arena box office.

One ticket package will include admission to both the Michigan State men's and women's games, giving Spartan fans a full day of basketball against Gonzaga.
