If you've got one of the easy Costco dinner kits sitting in your fridge right now, you might want to take a second look before you throw it into the oven. A popular ready-to-eat meal sold at Costco is being recalled, which includes stores here in Michigan.

What Costco Meal Kit Is Being Recalled?

The product in question is the "Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Potatoes and Glaze" kit, and issues come down to a possible salmonella contamination tied to one of the ingredients used in the meal.

Why The Recall Was Issued

The meal kits were sold between early March and mid-March, with sell-by dates ranging from March 5 through March 16. So if you recently made a Costco run and grabbed one of the grab-and-go dinners, it may be time to double check.

What Dates And Products Are Affected

The good news, as of right now there, haven't been any reported illnesses connected to this recall. Salmonella, however, is not something you want to mess with. It can cause symptoms like diarrhea, fever, nausea and stomach cramps, and they can hit anywhere from a few hours to days after eating contaminated food.

Symptoms Of Salmonella To Watch For

Costco is telling customers not to eat the product under any circumstances. Instead, bring it back to the store and they'll give you a full refund.

What Costco Wants You To Do Next

This recall stretches across more than two dozen states, including Michigan, so it's not just a small isolated issue.
