Ahead of one's wedding day, many a bride-to-be find themselves demanding certain things from their partners, attendees and wedding parties leading up to the big day.

One woman ruffled a few feathers after she asked her fiancé to wear contacts during their wedding to cover his eye condition.

The bride-to-be took to Reddit explaining she approached her husband about wearing the contacts to hide his heterochromia — a genetic condition that produces two different colored eyes — so he would have matching eyes for their wedding pictures.

"My fiancé and I are planning to get married this summer," the woman wrote via Reddit. "My fiancé has heterochromia, which I obviously don't have any problems with, but I was thinking that for our wedding photos it would be nice if he wore contact lenses, so his eye colors can match."

But it turned out the woman's fiancé didn't take kindly to the request.

"I didn't think he would mind my suggestion, but when I brought it up to him, he was livid," she wrote, adding: "He told me that he thought I didn't mind his eyes' colors and I said that I obviously didn't, but I would greatly appreciate it if he wore contact lenses to match his eyes' colors for the wedding photos. I said he could even match eye colors with mine, as I have blue eyes, while he has 1 blue eye and 1 brown eye."

She then explained she thought her soon-to-be-husband was "overreacting" by being mad and the duo are now having a "bigger argument" than she had anticipated.

Users were outraged at the bride-to-be's request, with many shaming her for being insensitive.

"I am soooo confused. Why don't you want him to look like himself? What's wrong with his eyes as they are? I've only ever in my life heard people think heterochromia is cool," one user wrote.

Another commented: "You’re literally asking him to do something unnatural to his appearance for your wedding portraits. If you love him, for god's sake apologize, tell him you love his eyes just the way they are because they’re his, and never ever bring it up again."

Yet another suggested she "buy some contacts for the wedding photos" so she can match her fiancé's eyes instead.
