Playing in the Masters golf tournament has to be one of the most exciting moments for any professional golfer.

There's a young man who happens to be a student at Michigan State University here in East Lansing who will be playing this week in the Masters.

His name is James Piot, and needless to say this guy is a great golfer.

Here's what mlive.com had to say:

Piot earned his spot in the Masters by winning the U.S. Amateur last August, when he came back from three holes down with nine to play in a dramatic championship match win.

I'm sure that James has to be very excited about playing in the Masters and there's a good chance he might even get to meet the one and only Tiger Woods.

Tiger Woods made the announcement as of  today, April 5, that he is going to play in the Masters. Tiger Woods has been away  from competitive golf for over a year due to his car crash in February 2021.

So now we have two really good reasons to watch the Masters:

1. Michigan State's James Piot

2. Tiger Woods (fingers crossed)

James Piot has already golfed with some pretty big names when it comes to professional golf.

Mlive.com adds:

Piot already played alongside several of those players this spring when he made his PGA Tour debut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, another exemption he received as U.S. Amateur champ. Piot shot 78-78 in the event to miss the cut by nine shots but said he still left encouraged by the experience at a premiere event on the PGA Tour schedule.

Let's wish MSU's James Piot all the best this week in the Masters. You've earned your spot James. Well deserved!
