One person has died after being shot by a Lansing Township policeman this afternoon. During a press conference, Lansing Township Police Chief Kay Hoffman said there were 3 occupants in the car that was pulled over today in the west block of 2600 Kalamazoo St. Hoffman also wouldn't say if any of the occupants were armed or why the car was pulled over for the police stop. The two officers involved are both on paid leave for an unknown time. One of the officers is a 15 year veteran of the department and the other has been there under 3 years. The Michigan State Police are now handling the investigation of the fatal shooting.
