Zara Larsson Apologizes for Calling James Charles Out About DMing Her Boyfriend: ‘Homophobia’ Blew Issue ‘Out of Proportion’
Zara Larsson has issued a public apology to James Charles following allegations that Charles sent direct messages hitting on her straight boyfriend.
“I’m cackling cause he hit up my boyfriend in the DMs several times knowing damn well he’s straight,” Larsson's initial since-deleted tweet read.
After the pop star's tweet, Charles released a YouTube video in which he called Larsson a hypocrite as she met her boyfriend via Twitter.
"When I wrote my tweet saying you hit up my boyfriend, I never in a million years expected it to blow up the way it did. I feel extra bad considering the fact that I, later on, corrected myself and took down the tweet after my boyfriend talked to me and showed me the DM," Larsson wrote on her Instagram Story and Twitter, addressing Charles. "It really wasn’t that bad." She also issued a tweet sharing the same sentiment.
Charles replied to her public tweet and addressed her Instagram videos as well. He wrote, "Thank you for apologizing angel, it's alright. All love from me!"
