Yes, it's true, the National Weather Service has issued a couple of Winter Weather Advisories for the Lansing area and beyond for today. The first advisory is in effect from 5 pm until 8 pm today--Monday, February 17th--which means the drive home from work (for those that are working on this President's Day) could be a little slippery. That advisory includes the following counties: Allegan; Barry; Calhoun; Eaton; Ingham; Jackson; Kalamazoo and Van Buren. Those counties could see some light snow with total snow accumulations of one to two inches. Click here to see more about that advisory.

The National Weather Service has also issued a Winter Weather Advisory that is in effect from 5 pm until 1 am on Tuesday for the following counties: Clinton; Gratiot; Ionia; Kent; Montcalm; Muskegon and Ottawa. The NWS says that those particular counties could see some mixed precipitation with total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.
