There are a few Spartan athletes and graduates that going to be going for medals over the next two weeks.

One of the more well known either for his on the court or off the court issues Draymond Green will be with the USA Basketball Team. They are going to be on the court tonight against China at 6pm, then against Venezuela (Aug. 8 at 6 p.m.), Australia (Aug. 10 at 6 p.m.), Serbia (Aug. 12 at 6 p.m.) and France (Aug. 14 at 1:15 p.m.) Knowing the USA basketball team's record in the Olympics expect them to go to the Quarterfinals on Aug 17th, then the semi finals on 19th, and finals on the 21st.

Next up is Emily Regan of The Women’s Eight Rowing Crew beings competition on 8/8, with heats set to start at 9:30a. Depending upon the results, the women’s eight might be at either the Women’s Repechages at 8:50a 8/10, or head straight to the Women’s Eight Finals on 8/13 at 10:04 AM. Knowing that the women’s eight crew has 10 consecutive gold medals in international competitions you might be seeing them in the finals on 8/13.

Finally, there is one more athlete from MSU that isn't competing for the USA team. He is Franklin Gomez, competing for Puerto Rico, also competed for MSU from 2005-2010, with a national championship in his weight class. He's in the 65kg weight class and those events begin on the final day of the Olympics with qualifying starting at 7:30am.
