West Michigan Meteorologist Narrowly Avoids On-Air CATastrophe
There's a lot to be scared of when it comes to Michigan's weather forecast this time of year. In fact, this week meteorologists across Michigan are telling us to brace for what could be yet another nasty winter storm.
The weather isn't what had WZZM morning meteorologist Blake Hansen scared during his broadcast on Monday, February 20th. Instead, he found something he could have never expected on the weather deck during his live update.
Blake starts off explaining that Wednesday February 22nd's potenital ice storm is all about a "battle of the air masses", and that it could be setting us up for what has the potential be a nasty ice storm.
And that's when suddenly, he makes an audible "aah!" noise in the middle of his sentence, and you see the terror of someone who has seen a ghost, in his eyes.
But, it wasn't a ghost... it was just a pair of stray felines making their way across the WZZM weather deck.
"we have cold air to the north--- we have a cat on the weather deck!"
At this point, just as quickly as his terror appeared, it's replaced with the sheer joy we all feel inside our hearts any time we see an unexpected cat. (And at work too? Honestly, Blake is living my dream life in this moment. Minus the jump scare.)
(This is the look of a man who just got to enjoy a surprise cat at his workplace. Pure. Joy.)
Maybe theres a curse with the WZZM weather deck, after fellow Meteorologist Michael Behrens slid and fell, then later made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, on the same deck.
Either way, we're just thankful you're doing the terrifying and hard work of reporting the weather in such a lively space. Check out the full video below:
