There is a massive recall of USB charging cords from Target. First, according to WILX, Target is recalling over 90,000 Heyday 3-foot lightning USB charging cables due to them possibly shocking or becoming a fire hazard. The main issue in the recall is the metal that surrounds the cord, which when the cord is plugged in, it can become electrically charged if it makes contact with the USB wall charger plug prongs. The Heyday USB charging cable was sold in store and online at Target from June/2018 - January/2019. There have been about a dozen reports of the cable smoking, sparking, or igniting so this recall is important for you and for your house as a fire can start from this cord.

You can get a better look at what the cord looks like here, from Target. Also you can get a full refund for the cord from Target as part of the recall.
